- One way to do it is let your fax software wait long enough to skip the
- answer machine message for fax connection.
- Just add "S7=90" to your modem Init String. 90 is number of seconds it
- will wait for fax connection. Use appropriate number as you like.
- The other way is add "X3" to modem Init String. (This will prevent modem
- from trying to detect dial tone, i.e., blind dialing) And us a single "," as
- the fax number. Let your fax program process and prepare all fax files but do
- not dial yet. You can then pick up the phone and manually dial the fax number.
- listen to the answer machine message patiently until it finish and switch to
- fax, then you press a button to let your computer begin fax, and put down the
- phone.
- Unfortunately most of fax programs do not allow such a pause. They will go
- immediately to dialing once fax files are prepared. You may try QFAXV103.ZIP
- which do have the above described manual dial feature. It is stored in:
- ftp.coast.net:/SimTel/msdos/commprog/qfaxv103.zip
